Meghan Markle body language in one of her prior engagements with the royal family is being deciphered by a body language expert.
Jesus Enrique Rosas on his YouTube account quotes a 2019 event, the 50th anniversary of the Investiture of Charles, the Prince of Wales, where the Duchess of Sussex ‘did not care’ about royal protocol.
Jesus claims that Meghan deliberately tried to snub William and Kate as she tried to ditch rank and enter the room first.
He explained: “This is that royal engagement when Charles told the Sussexes about royal protocol and they did as they pleased anyway.
“They were about to enter a room where only senior members could be at any given moment.
“In this case, the ones that could enter the room were the Queen, Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
“We can see Charles going right up to Harry and the wife to chat for a bit before they went in.
“But the fact is that Charles did not stop to chat with the Harkles, he just could not go in before the Queen.”
He said: “It was Meghan who broke the protocol first, because when you zoom in on their feet, Harry had no intention of moving at all.
“We can imagine he’s used to this kind of engagements for many years, so he’s aware of how to behave.
“It is Meghan who makes the first step.
“She began walking, looking straight into Charles’s face, and she did not stop or turn around, not even to confirm Harry was behind her.
“She just didn’t not care.
“That’s when Charles notices that the wife means business and she’s going in with them.
“In fact, Charles goes as far as to stop for a split second to signal, in this case to Meghan, that they should stand where they are.”
He explained: “He makes a very subtle signal with his index finger, making it clear they have to stay there.
“It is important to notice these clues, because royal etiquette often conditions the timing of certain body language cues.
“William knows they messed up and he turns around to look at them.”
Trying to understand Meghan’s position, Jesus added: “I know that learning so many rules and protocols could be a challenge for anyone, but Meghan’s prior job was memorising scripts.
“We know this was not a memory issue and more an attitude issue, because Charles was telling her explicitly that she had to stay there.
“I guess it was too hard to grasp for the rising Montecito stars.”
